You gotta pay to play.  Have been deathly sick for the past 36 hours.  Slightly recovered.  While ben clare and jill enjoyed the Bangkok weekend market, i enjoyed sweating through my sheets at regular intervals.

Beijing was awesome.  We stayed at at the Leo Courtyard Hostel and it worked out perfectly.  4 beds and a private bathroom.  The staff was great.  We took two tours with the hostel.  One to the great wall and one to a chinese acrobat show.  Both were excellent.

We hit the wall on a beautiful day.  We saw about three other tourists while we were there.  Very windy.  Clare and I hiked a couple of kms straight up.  Stunning views.  What a crazed and amazing military concept.

Other highlights were Peking duck (we doubled down), the dirt market (yo lou), the forbidden city, and most of all the huge happy vibe of a huge city firing up for the year of the rabbit,

We chose to stay in beijing for a few extra days rather than try and jam in the terra cotta dudes and shaolin temple.  too much moving.

Jill continues to ponder her import/export future and I continue to hope for a second interview for the acs job.  Too bad we couldn't blog from China.  The government seems quite down on user generated content.  Seems like someone who knew a little about VPN and proxy networks could make some huge coin.
