bootapest
yesterday made it to the buda side (castle, fisherman's bastion. funicular, etc). And to the central market. Sort of like the grand bazaar of food. sausage reigns supreme. In all of it's forms (including clare's). Also, toad in the hole has reemerged after a three months hiatus.
Today we went to the flea market in the city park and then to the bath.
oh the bath. Simply_____ . i mean it is a landlocked country and u get a freaking cabana. Old school--like new england. Then you pool hop. Hot/cold/medium. Some are mint flavored. Some are cinnamon flavored. Then there is a massive pool outside. So you run outside in your bathing suit in below freezing temps and u join hundreds of people outside in a massive steaming Hapsburg pool party. Mind u, these waters are therapeutic. After a while your hair freezes so u run inside a take a sauna. We spent three hours bathing without blinking an eye. Ben described it as a water park with dolphin statues spitting big gobs of thermal liquid goodness onto your head (those crazy neo-classicists). Some poetic license. Everybody stands around and gossips.
Followed it up with a pizza size latke at the xmas market and clare nabbed a huge roast goose leg with braised red cabbage which she promptly picked up and started gnawing. People from all over the world registered approval at her approach. You can't make this stuff up.
