off-piste

December 17th, 2010
Enzo and Monica's
Geneva

A lot smoother couchette experience.  Hop on train at 6:30pm in prague.  Switch trains at Basel at 9:01am (swiss train was 2 minutes late considered asking for refund).  Jill quickly finds cappuccino and impeccable smoked salmon sandwiches as we hop on the connector.   Enzo finds us at the  geneva train station at 11:46am.  Back to his place for some more espresso.  Always good to have an ironclad itinerary.

Clare and Ben may have a better social life than we do.  Another play date today (with emma). We walked Mo (Enzo's borrowed schnauzer--nothing like walking the dog to immediately feel like a local). Went to the Baby Plage and the kids went berserk on the homemade ropes course (in the middle of a snow squall).  So we are now in Switzerland (how'd that happen')?  From the Museum of Communism (conveniently located between McDonalds and an upscale prague casino) to the home of money in 19 hours.  Parentheses (ad nauseum).

  1. The kids have it right: spot what you love and go for it, - Esse quam videri - to be, rather than to seem to be. I think your trip is a whole lotta of Esse quam videri.
